Manager, Enterprise Network Engineering

We are looking for a rock star manager to lead the Netflix enterprise networking team. Gone are the days of big, complex, traditional campus networks. Netflix operates a campus network based on an untrusted and location-independent model with the focus on efficient standardizations and simplicity. The primary responsibility of the leader is to develop and execute on a strategic roadmap that further simplifies our global campus networks. Challenge the status quo and innovate.  This role will involve the continued optimization to services for LAN/WAN, routers, switches, wireless, ISPs, firewalls, and security.  

- Establish principles and best practices to provide a simple, stable and reliable network for all corporate offices
- Develop and evangelize the global campus network vision around simplicity and scale 
- Provide technical direction and guidance for your team to effectively execute on the vision
- Build or maintain an elite, efficient team of network specialists/engineers
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as Information Security, Global Help Desk, and Product Network Engineering
- Remove the barriers and roadblocks encountered by the team to enable big impact and success
- Maintain a constant focus on a great user experience enabling Netflix employees to be highly productive
- Drive high performance and results through data-driven decisions
- Develop solutions that scale through automation, monitoring/instrumentation, and self healing where applicable
- Remain current on new and emerging technologies to see if any are applicable to advance our campus network philosophy
- Partner with the right cross-functional teams (and 3rd party vendors) to define network ops/support models that scale

- Deep understanding of Network Architecture and Network Management methodologies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience/knowledge of vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Arista, and Aruba Networks
- Multiple routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and RIP
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in an AWS environment

- BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field, with 5 or more years of network engineering leadership experience
- Knowledgeable on all things network related, expert on many
- Experience leading small and large teams
- Experience in software defined networking and automation
- Possess strong business acumen
- Proven track record building and leading high performing network engineering teams
