Content Specialist - Kids, Teens & Family

Netflix's Enhanced Content team is looking for a content strategist to lead the editorial efforts for our growing catalog of kids and family original movies and TV shows. As a member of the Content Strategy team, you will collaborate on merchandising and promotional campaigns that introduce our slate of Original content to more than 100 million global members.
 
In this role, you will work cross-functionally with many teams that influence the Kids, Teen & Family user experience. You will play a crucial role in positioning and packaging titles aimed at kids, teens and families. This includes working with Content Producers to define and uphold guidelines on making shows appropriate for the Netflix Kids space and advise on maturity ratings/parental advisories.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Enhanced Content timeline and deliverables for Original Kids & Family titles, ensuring each one gets all required editorial assets (such as copy, trailers and metadata) by critical delivery dates
  • Ensure editorial and strategic alignment across our Creative and Editorial teams of writers, taggers and video/image editors
  • Work with Originals Product Managers, Product Creative Producers and Marketing teams on title level positioning, making sure each Original receives optimal promotional tactics, merchandising and personalization efforts
  • Use your deep kids movies & TV knowledge to inform the positioning of each Kids & Family title on the service, identifying unique aspects of the content to inform internal asset creation such as trailers, artwork and copy
  • Align with our localization team and linguists on copy translations and editorial integrity

Requirements:

  • Previous content strategy, marketing, or content management experience - preferably at a movie studio, television network or streaming service
  • In-depth knowledge of entertainment/consumer content created for kids, families, and teens
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to marry operational excellence with strong product-based sensibilities
  • Above average attention to detail with problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proficiency working in content management systems and web based applications
  • Prior experience working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment, specifically related to the creation of creative content
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in related field such as media studies or child development
