| The Gaming Platforms team is a newly forming group responsible for prototyping, testing and building the Netflix experience for gaming consoles. Over the last ten years, Netflix has developed the worlds best personalization and movie finding technology this teams challenge is to bring it to gaming consoles and create a fantastic experience used every day by our growing subscriber base of over 10 million customers. In this role we need people who are technical, strong leaders, and execution focused. Expect to help build and lead a technology team to rapidly prototype and iterate on a variety of platforms. About you: You are a hands-on technology leader. You are deeply technical, you bring a strong need to understand and build technology to your leadership. You can manage cross functional projects, understand and address the needs and interests of different stakeholders, and leverage and motivate diverse teams. You desire a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You can run with fuzzy requirements, be decisive when appropriate, and are comfortable with smart risk taking. You are proactive, results-oriented, and want to make a difference at a company that matters. You can navigate external organizations, identify the right stakeholders and decisions makers, unblock things when they are stuck, and manage through persuasion. You are great at recruiting world class developers. You enjoy building an outstanding team and finding the talent you need to deliver on your next challenge. What you will do: You will lead projects that aim to prototype and implement Netflix instant streaming on a variety of game platforms, specifically around networking, security and video playback. You will work closely with our client platform, server, encoding and security teams, and your input will help evolve Netflix technology and policies. Every day, we make decisions with far-reaching technical and product impact as we build the foundation of this new business and delight our customers with a whole new way of enjoying movies. REQUIREMENTS: 10+ years of relevant software development experience, 5+ years in an engineering manager role. Expert in OO design and implementation using C++. Experience with game platforms is a big advantage. Experience with video playback software development is a bonus. |
