| The Position: |
| We are once again expanding our core Web UI Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to ply your web development/engineering talents to one of the most recognized brands on the Web! In this position you would join an amazing team of Web UI engineers at an exciting time in Netflix history. As a team member you would be responsible for bringing new user experience innovations live to the Netflix site as well as participate in moving our site to the latest Web standards (think unobtrusive JavaScript, layered semantic markup, etc.) and working to improve client performance (think ySlow and beyond). If you dream in DHTML, have a passion for bringing user experience to reality and can articulate why you hate IE6 (and how you tame it) then please apply! Technically we are looking for these skills: • Expert-level knowledge of DHTML (JavaScript/Ajax, HTML, CSS) • Expert-level experience in building web applications using the latest standards-based approaches • Solid experience with at least one Ajax/Javascript framework • Solid knowledge of JSP, Java, and Java Servlets (or similar page generation technologies) • Solid grasp on object-oriented programming and software architecture design • Experience with jQuery, Struts, Tiles a plus You should also have: • A strong sense of what is required of a great user interface • The ability to work seamlessly in a team development environment • The desire to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing, dynamic environment • A complete understanding of the full cycle development (design, development and testing) • A love for technical challenges • Excellent verbal and written communications |
