| The Position: |
| Netflix is looking for a Director of Server Systems Engineering to lead our server re-architecture efforts. You will lead the way for the architectural principles and implementations that will substantially increase the availability posture of the core Netflix internet services. This is a critical leadership position that will transition Netflix from the availability posture of a domestic DVD rental company to that of a global internet movie streaming company. What you will do: • You will lead our efforts to re-architect the Netflix server systems. • You will put into practice an architecture that delivers 4 9’s of availability and responses within a fixed time budget. • You will lay foundations and then mentor other engineering teams moving to the new architecture. Requirements: • 10+ years of relevant software development experience, 5+ years in an engineering manager role. • Experience with highly available, non-relational persistent data stores. • Experience with Java is a plus. • Experience with cloud based server deployments is a plus. |
