| For over a year now, Netflix members have been watching movies on demand from both their home computer and on their TV. We are continuing to expand our TV device support by partnering with a growing number of consumer electronics companies. The Instant Watch function of our service is a critical part of Netflixs future. As we grow in device support, we are also evolving our content distribution. As we explore new methods to deliver content and branch out into new market platforms, our subscriber base continues to grow exponentially along with our instant viewing catalog, currently offering more than 17,000 instant watch titles. We are looking for a senior test engineer who has a passion for working on cutting edge streaming video technology. You will lead the efforts to develop new methods for testing and qualification of CE devices. You should be familiar with testing embedded platforms and have a keen interest for the video delivery technologies. You must be able to apply creative approaches to testing and troubleshooting. In this role you will contribute as a senior member of the Partner Products Development team. This group is a core part of Netflixs strategy for the future. While we believe that disc-based media will have a long life, Netflix is committed to aggressively grow Internet delivery of movies in ways that are convenient, compelling, and cost effective for our members. This team is chartered to revolutionize the way people will watch movies and you will be an integral part of it. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead test efforts for the Netflix Ready Device Certification team Develop and grow test infrastructure using open source and commercial test tools Design and develop test strategies for a wide variety of consumer electronic devices (Flash STBs, Blu-ray players, Game Consoles, Network Enabled TVs, etc.). Work with Netflix partners and 3rd party organizations in joint testing scenarios Create and execute test plans for a variety of CE devices REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 10 years of hands-on quality assurance experience A minimum of 3 years leading quality assurance teams Experience developing and utilizing open source and commercial test management and test execution tools Experience with testing embedded applications in large scale client/server systems Working knowledge of Linux, and scripting languages such as PERL or Ruby Working knowledge of SQL Adept in troubleshooting, characterizing, and describing software defects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organized. Methodical. Creative. Self-motivated. BS, BE or equivalent PREFERRED SKILLS Experience setting up, configuring a variety of networks and network topologies Successful track record shipping client-server oriented products especially embedded clients Working knowledge of digital and analog A/V formats Knowledge of certification testing workflow Knowledge of DRM A passion for the consumer electronic product domain and related technologies |
